In 1915, Andrea and Nicola, two Italian brothers, skilled in the restoration of cathedrals, leave their native country in search of wealth in America. Their search ultimately leads them to Hollywood where they design sets for films. Then tragedy and war tears them apart, only to reunite them in World War I.
